Some assistance can pay eligible closing costs as well as a down payment. Other programs limit how the money may be used. Ask for a written breakdown showing approved assistance, other credits and the cash you still need.
The program permits closing costs
Check the amount that may actually be applied.
Closing costs are fees and expenses for completing the purchase and loan. They are separate from the down payment. The program decides which uses are permitted; the name DPA does not answer that by itself.
